Faculty of Forestry, University of Agriculture in Krakow (UAK)

University of Agriculture in Krakow is one of the leading universities in the area of life sciences in Poland. UAK is public (state) university located in Krakow It derives from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, where agricultural and forestry sciences developed since 1890. University of Agriculture today: 7 Faculties- 1 inter-university unit-  over 12 000 students,-  c.a.1400 employees (including 758 academic staff)- 24 main fields- 54 specializations. Due to the high quality education it provides, the University is known and valued in Poland and abroad. It focuses on the quality, mobility and innovations solutions. Faculty of Forestry at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, is a part of public university and provides forest research and education in forest management and forestry sciences at I, II and III study degrees as well as postgraduate studies. It is empowered to award PhD degrees and habilitation (qualifying for associate professor position) and is authorized to submit candidates for the title of professor of forest sciences. The Faculty employs 92 researches, including 16 professors, 17 Ph.D. D.Sc. (with habilitation), 59 Ph.D. The University of Agriculture is active member of 3 Clusters, among other the LifeSciense Cluster associated with Jagiellonian University. Conduction of research projects at a high scientific level in ensured with well-equipped certified laboratories. Faculty of Forestry have been actively involved in the implementation of projects within the European Union Programmes (Framework Programmes FP5-7, INTERREG and European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST). At a moment the Faculty of Forestry leads research projects funded by the NCN (National Science Centre), NCBiR (The National Centre for Research and Development), State Forest National Fores Holding as well as the projects funded by other institutions. Moreover it is implementing other projects within the operational programs (POKL, MRPO) and actively participate in 13 running COST actions ES1101, FP1102, FP1103, FP1202, FP1204, ES1203, FP1201, FP1206, FP1304, FP1305, TU1302, ES1404, FP1403. The faculty has a active international agreements and cooperate in research with numerous universities and research institutes both Polish and foreign: Austria, Canada, Finland,  Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, USA, and other.
