The development of appropriate methodology for correcting the results of a single tree volume estimation using dendrometric volume equations or tables taking into account global and local variability in tree stem profiles is the main objective in this task. The aim of the research is to recognize this general and local variability in the shape of eight main forest-forming tree species and identify the factors which determine it. To acquire an information about local variability of tree shape terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) will be used.
